James Van de Voorde is the co-founder of Osher Van de Voorde Investment Management, now Vantage Wealth, a boutique wealth management firm with over 30 years of dedication to personalized, multi-generational client relationships. James has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s client-centric approach, which emphasizes comprehensive financial guidance and planning tailored to each client’s unique goals. Today, Vantage Wealth embodies this legacy, with a seasoned team offering a holistic wealth perspective aimed at fostering abundance and peace of mind across generations.
As President and CEO, James directs the firm’s investment and asset allocation strategies, overseeing portfolio design and construction. He created the firm’s proprietary valuation model to identify promising investment opportunities, building portfolios with a rigorous approach to security selection, tactical sector weighting, and strategic asset allocation. James also pioneered the firm’s integrated wealth planning process, which aligns client portfolios with long-term goals and priorities while mitigating unnecessary risk. Additionally, he is the author of the firm’s respected quarterly newsletter.
James holds a BA in Urban Studies from Loyola Marymount University. Actively engaged in professional circles, he is a member of the Economic Round Table, the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, the Pasadena Breakfast Forum, and the Estate Planning Council of the San Gabriel Valley. His dedication to service includes board positions with several nonprofit organizations, including Loyola Marymount University, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Alpha Delta Gamma, Flintridge Sacred Heart and the newly founded Palm Springs Community Foundation.
James values a well-rounded lifestyle, practicing daily meditation, enjoying hot yoga, and pursuing his passions for golf, travel, and exceptional food and wine pairings. He and his wife, Maggi, split their time between Pasadena and Palm Springs. James is a proud father to his daughters, Grace and Quin, and stepchildren, Elias, Natalya, and Jovie.
